We start in Vienna, drive out to the baroque abbey of Melk, cross the Danube by ferry to Spitz, taste our way through a local winery, and finish with a relaxed e-bike ride into Krems before heading back home.

Your Private Wachau Day, Step by Step

• Vienna pickup — your guide picks up your group at your hotel at the agreed time.
• Melk — visit the magnificent Melk Abbey, perched above the Danube and one of Austria’s most important baroque sites.
• Danube ferry to Spitz — cross the river the traditional way, with sweeping views over the terraced vineyards.
• Dürnstein — stroll through this picture-postcard wine village, known for its blue-topped abbey church and the castle ruins where Richard the Lionheart was once held captive.
• Wine tasting — sample a selection of the Wachau’s celebrated Grüner Veltliner and Riesling wines at a local winery along the way.
• E-bike to Krems — swap the car for an e-bike and ride the scenic Danube path from Dürnstein into Krems at your own pace.
• Return to Vienna — we drive you back to your hotel.
